While Australian companies are increasingly active in their efforts to drive gender equality, women still remain under-represented at every stage of the career pipeline.
The latest WGEA data shows women account for only 38.4% of managers, and 16.5% of CEO’s. Women move up the career ladder in smaller numbers than men at every stage but lose most ground early on in their careers. Research also shows that an absence of accessible, inspirational role models is a barrier to developing successful, ambitious women. .
